hey those drums are great.

I like how they dont have much presence. Its a technique i am experimenting with.

bobiscoo32 responds:

thank you man your reviews are awesome and so is your music

I gotta diversify my samples.

Not that iw ould call this somehting i wouldnt sample. I guess my musical landscape isnt as wide as others. NIce work. a biiiiiit empty at parts but no biggie.

bobiscoo32 responds:

thank you alot dureagon :D and i did kind of rush the cutting of the sample on this one so its not the cleanest track but i still like it. thanks for reviewing

its less than a minute

snippet. Its reaaaal good htough. Built for lyrics.

bobiscoo32 responds:

thank you so man! I didnt want it too get repetitive so i cut it a bit short. youre the man, thanks for reviewing

Why cut the bass out?

I quite like it a lot. I was groovin to the section 1:45-1:58 where the bass came though more. I wish it was more present throughout the song. Even if in smaller sections. I like the concept of the track. The drums are.... different. Well not really. I would have used different ones. But, thats liek saying i would have made a different song. They oddly work. The ending is unique and i think it works well.

ThaKidd responds:

Hey DJ, (btw I downloaded a few of your instrumentals soooo respect)
Well first things first, I actually didn't put any bass in it. At all. So that's why the bass sounds cut out. It was a last decision, and I have done this beat over so many times, its kinda bouncing around in my head if I should do something else with it. And I agree with you about the drums. I listened to this beat so many times, I had changed my opinion about it too. Nevertheless, I still have a long way to go in my decision making...

Thanks for the review though!

Everyone touches this beat.

and for good reason. This is one of the better spits on it. I like you flow here its outside of your zone slightly. You really show how diverse you can be when it come to your flow, but you dont deviate from your style. You very rarely jarble words. but with a couple recordings itll all be ironed out. Great stuff.

HeIsAlive responds:

Thanks for the review bud :D
Yep, its all still a working progress.

smoooth

pimp jam. I respect your sample choices although you have sabotaged my own efforts int he past. Short and sweet. The drums fit perfectly and sound great. Filtering techniques are on point. Nice production too. Pretty good.

bobiscoo32 responds:

thank you so much dureagon! btw your beats are fucking amazing recently. and about the samples i guess great minds think alike. thnaks for an awesome review

Hey not bad.

I rather like the use of the sample. My problem is the drums, they areeee... well, i know what you were going for with them, but they sound too industrial esque, if that makes sense. I feel some other samples need to be switched for them. I just dont feel they fit very well.

This is very DOOM esque in how its laid out, which is great. I think more could have been done with deans vocals. They are backwards... I respect that. AN element here and there can really make it shine, but not bat overall.

you do a great job with vocals

Ambient and soothing. I like how the song progresses it never gets climactic but it always stays chill. Exceptional atmosphere. Another winner.

Yeah you got it.

That flow fits this track better than what i was having in mind. Barium into the cranium? haha im not gonna go into why thats awesome. I may clean this track up a bit but to be honest it sounds perfect with the vocals. I appreciate you chose to kill it on this. Keep honing your style. Its rather unique copared to a lot of other stuff out right now.

HeIsAlive responds:

Thanks man. If you make another grimey beat, hit me up. Im down to merc it lol.
And thanks for making this awesome peice of music.

your drums are masterful

I wish i could acheive this simplicity. I find that whenever i seek out a track to make things never go as planned. I think it comes witht he territory. Anyways, this track is everyhting i love about chill hip hop. Even the higher energy portion is chill enough to fit in perfectly. I kinda wish it lasted longer in the end but its fine the way it is. Ahhhh coffee.

Sirhc7000 responds:

Fun Fact: This track was actually the result of a failed flipping of this sample. I originally sampled another part of this song and was trying to make a high energy track with a lot of 808 thumps along with normal kicks. I decided it was garbage but I incorporated some of that into this version of the beat that is smooth but is also bassy. So in response to things never going as planned, I'd def agree with you on that. Sampling is a funny thing like that...you never really know what your outcome will be once you start playing around, because you always find something new in there.

But anyway thanks for the review son. I'm glad you digg the track. I'm watching your stuff as well. You're def up high on my favorites list, man.

EDIT: In response to your review response. I have been mad busy/lazy these past few months because of school and work. Plus I had a major "producer's block" but in 2012 I'll def try to submit as much (or even more) as I did in 2010 and 2009 fasho. That's a promise.
