A mess.

The piano sample could almost be good if you chopped it and ... well .. did something else with it lol. The beat is simple but not the most horrible thing ive ever heard in my life. it could almost be a quirky beat if it didnt just seem thrown together. The no bassline is... you don't have one. And the no variation at all also hurts the track. uhhhhhhh.... keep trying :)

Thx 4 ur criticsm, DJ, and I respect ur view. It's not very varied, and it probly does need a bassline. I'll try to keep this in view in future tracks.

Kami my nucca.

Repetition is a part of hip hop. That is one thing that makes this genre of music different from a lot of others. In the words of MF Doom "The beat is sicker than the blood in your stool the way it repeats could trick ya like a stuttering fool." A beat that repeats in a way that makes it addictive is a magical thing. Keep making music the way you do and don't let anyone tell you that its repetative.

With all of that being said. I feel that this beat isnt as good as a lot of your other works, but its still a dope beat. Jazzy is all up in this beat and its very lounge worthy. I like the sax its very soothing and the bass is also on point. I just felt that its a little flat. The beat is supposed to be mellow but it never draws you in as much as it should. I had to listen to it multiple times to hear the whole thing cuz i would drift off somewhere before the song ended. I'm not sure what you could add to make the song have more pull, but i dont think more samples would be the real answer. It COULD be an answer but i think you have enough as it is.

Anyways homie. Do your thing. 8 is only 2 less than perfect.

Kamikazi1 responds:

I feel ya homie. This track was basically just for rapping, just a simple lounge track to cool out to and spit some flow.

I like the drum variations

cool melody. its got that serious mellow feel about it. Darius is a cool game too.

Groovin

I like the pace of this one. Im not the biggest fan of the horn but its such a small thing that it still deserves a 10. Nice synths and precussion all around.

Damn.

Youre insane dude. I find stuff i love from you all the time. I think the strings at about midpoint are abit off. Other than that fuxing great.

Well we like it a lot

Sampled. Composed. the end result is what counts. I can picture a very laid back club atmosphere here. Another great work. I like the snare and the bass, they are the real stars here.

I know what you mean

at 2:27. yeah... at 2:27 its like really great. Give it a listen everyone. One thing i disagree about. This ain't just a beat its like a mini vacation.

freddyfinger responds:

thanks :)

Finger snappin good

Lovely vocals on this one. Mellowness all around with a hint of mystery. Very Dilla my friend.

Kamikazi1 responds:

Dilla is my jam dude thanks!

This is more industrial

I like where you are going with this but i think for now anyways its the wrong genre. The quality of the song needs to be improved first. The drum variation is not bad at time but the synth and the pads kinda drone on for too long. Also maybe some new instruments or just different ones need to be used as it sounds like a default sound song. Keep working on it.

I love this

Smooooth as butter. This has some serious style. True old school and a real breath of fresh air. Faved and saved.

ranter responds:
